Our Post-Holiday party will be held on January 22, 2011 from 6 – 9 PM at Sandy F.’s house, in Woodbridge, VA. Get further info from your newsletter, your email notification, or Christopher Hudert. (or Sandy, but we don’t want her contact info made too public)

We have a lot of opportunities to share photos of Guild activities. Facebook, Flickr, and the NCPG website itself provide space for photographs, and if you have any you would like to contribute, please send them to me at c.piper@thepuppetco.org and I will post them for all to see. Same applies to videos for YouTube, but in that case file size dictates putting the file on a disk and sending it to me at the Puppet Co. Also, if you have some time to scan archival photos and would like to help, let me know.

I was remiss in not thanking Christopher Hudert for his help in getting the names of the domain and hosting companies, and logins for the old website (not to mention, as Treasurer paying the bills.) He and I went through countless emails, and I can only imagine the amount of detective work it took for him to get the info after such a long gap in service. Thanks also to the Puppet Co. for hosting the NCPG website for free on its account.

After two and a half years, the website is back and hopefully better than ever. There are still some bugs to work out, but I hope to fix them in the weeks to come. Check back often, as we hope to have a store up soon, as well as an archive of past issues of Puppetimes, Minutes from meetings, announcements of special events and performances, a photo album, and much more.

Since members of the Executive Board will be able to post directly, the flow of information will hopefully stream much faster. Guild members that are paid up (Hint: Membership Dues are due January 1) will be able to register as a user on the site, and add their comments to posts made by the “Powers That Be.” I have instituted this system to give everyone a chance to have their input, while keeping the information focus on Guild business, and avoid getting too far off-topic. Naturally, I am open to suggestions from anyone, and can be contacted via the form on this site, or directly via email.

Registration may be a little convoluted for some who are not familiar with the blog member process. This is to prevent spam from polluting the site, and I ask your forbearance in advance. Once you fill out the form, you are sent an email which links back to the site and confirms you are who you say you are. Then the info comes to me, I make sure you are a member in good standing, and confirm your registration and send you an email with your username and password. Bear in mind that regardless of your username, your real name will be on the comments you post. You can start the process by commenting on this post. Enjoy!
